SSM Central School, Kuppandapalayam was founded in 2010 ,is co-educational Senior Secondary day cum boarding school. It is a Private Institution run by the prestigious SSM Lakshmi Ammal Progressive Society. This School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the national body of the Government of India in Secondary Education.

We believe that the old-school model of passively learning facts and reciting them out is no longer sufficient to prepare students to survive in today’s world. SSM Central School system inculcates both fundamental skills (reading, writing, and math) and 21st century skills (teamwork, problem solving, research gathering, time management, information synthesizing, utilizing high tech tools) that helps the child to solve highly complex problems. With this combination of skills, students become directors and managers of their learning process, guided and mentored by the skilled teachers. We have identified that children have a variety of learning styles. They fabricate their knowledge on varying backgrounds and understandings. It is also acknowledged that children have a broader array of potentials and aptitudes than they have been permitted to show in regular classrooms with the traditional text-based focus.
